Comprehensive Metabolic Panel 1
24 key markers for kidney, liver and metabolic health.
This panel is a broad, all-round assessment of your general health, measuring a wide range of markers across several of the body's key systems in a single blood test. It looks at your blood sugar, kidney and liver function, electrolyte and mineral balance, and cholesterol, giving a comprehensive snapshot that can help identify a range of common health issues early.
Blood sugar
- Fasting glucose: an important marker for diabetes and how your body manages blood sugar
Kidney function
These markers show how well your kidneys are filtering and clearing waste from your blood:
- Creatinine, urea (BUN), and eGFR: core measures of kidney function
- Uric acid: high levels are linked to gout and can also reflect kidney health
Liver function
These markers assess the health of your liver and how well it is working:
- ALT, AST, ALP, and GGT: enzymes that can indicate liver stress or damage
- Bilirubin (total, direct, and indirect): a waste product processed by the liver
- Albumin, total protein: proteins that reflect liver function and general health
Electrolytes and minerals
These reflect your body's fluid balance and essential mineral levels:
- Sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate: key electrolytes for nerve, muscle, and fluid balance
- Calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium: minerals essential for bones, muscles, and many body processes
Cholesterol (lipids)
A full breakdown of the fats in your blood, a major factor in heart disease risk:
- Total, HDL, and LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, together with the calculated TC/HDL, LDL/HDL, and TG/HDL ratios
Why it matters
Many health conditions develop quietly, with no obvious symptoms in their early stages. By checking several of the body's major systems at once, this panel helps you establish a clear picture of your overall health, catch potential issues such as diabetes, kidney or liver problems, or raised cholesterol early, and track your health over time.
