Full Body MOT Health Check Plus Cancer
A complete health check with broad cancer marker screening.
The Full Body MOT Plus Cancer Health Check is our most extensive screening package, combining a comprehensive all-round health check with a broad panel of tumour markers. Alongside a detailed assessment of your major organ systems, it screens a wide range of cancer-related markers, making it our most thorough option for those who want both a full health baseline and broader cancer marker screening in a single appointment.
Physical check and body composition
A detailed set of physical measurements, including height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature, blood oxygen (SpO2), and a full body composition analysis breaking down fat, muscle, bone, water, and metabolic rate.
Blood sugar and blood group
Fasting glucose and HbA1c to check for diabetes and long-term blood sugar control, along with your ABO and Rh blood group.
Heart (cardiac markers)
Markers reflecting the condition of the heart muscle, including cardiac troponin, creatine kinase (CK and CK-MB), LDH, and HBDH.
Cholesterol (lipids)
A full breakdown of the fats in your blood, including total, HDL, and LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and the calculated cholesterol ratios.
Kidney function
Markers of how well your kidneys are filtering and clearing waste, including creatinine, urea, uric acid, and eGFR.
Liver function
A detailed assessment of liver health, including the liver enzymes, bilirubin, proteins, bile acids, and other markers of how well the liver is working.
Pancreas
Amylase and lipase, enzymes that reflect the health of the pancreas.
Electrolytes and minerals
Essential salts and minerals reflecting your fluid balance and many body processes, including sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, phosphorus, and bicarbonate.
Inflammation
CRP and high-sensitivity CRP, markers that can indicate inflammation in the body and help assess cardiovascular risk.
Vitamins and iron (micro-elements)
Vitamin D and vitamin B12, both important for energy, nerves, and general health, along with ferritin, the best marker of your iron stores.
Hormones
TSH and free T3 to assess thyroid function, plus testosterone, an important hormone for energy, mood, and sexual health.
Cancer markers
A broad panel of tumour markers relevant to a range of cancers, including markers for bowel, pancreatic, liver, gastric, and blood-related cancers, and sex-specific markers for breast and ovarian cancer in women and prostate and testicular cancer in men. Please read the important note below on how these should be understood.
Blood Count
A complete analysis of your red cells, white cells, and platelets, giving broad insight into anaemia, infection, immune health, and clotting.
Urine analysis
A wide-ranging urine test checking for signs relevant to kidney health, diabetes, infection, and more, including protein, glucose, blood, microalbumin, and the albumin-to-creatinine ratio.
An important note on the cancer markers
This is the most important thing to understand about this package. Tumour markers are screening indicators, not diagnostic tests for cancer, and they must be interpreted with care.
- A normal result does not rule out cancer. Many cancers, especially in their early stages, do not raise these markers, so a normal result should not be taken as an all-clear.
- A raised result does not confirm cancer. These markers are very commonly raised by benign, non-cancerous conditions, so a raised level often has an innocent explanation and does not mean cancer is present.
- Because of this, a raised marker can lead to anxiety and further investigations that turn out to be unnecessary, while a normal marker can give false reassurance.
For these reasons, tumour markers are generally most useful for monitoring people already diagnosed with cancer, rather than for screening people without symptoms. Any raised or abnormal result should always be discussed with your GP, who can consider it in the context of your symptoms, history, and any further tests needed. If you have specific symptoms or concerns about cancer, please speak to your GP directly rather than relying on these markers alone.
Why it matters
This package offers our most complete picture of your general health, checking many of the body's major systems in a single appointment, alongside a broad panel of cancer-related markers. Used with a clear understanding of what tumour markers can and cannot tell you, and always in discussion with your GP, it can form part of a wider approach to looking after your health.
