Full Body MOT Health Check Plus Genotype
Comprehensive health screening with sickle cell and thalassaemia status.
The Full Body MOT Health Check + Genotype is our comprehensive health screen combined with a detailed analysis of your haemoglobin genotype. Alongside a thorough all-round check of your major organ systems, it adds sickle cell and thalassaemia screening and a full haemoglobin breakdown, making it especially valuable for understanding your inherited blood makeup as well as your general health. It is an excellent choice for a complete health baseline in a single appointment, particularly for those who also want to know their genotype status.
Physical check and body composition
A detailed set of physical measurements, including height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature, blood oxygen (SpO2), and a full body composition analysis breaking down fat, muscle, bone, water, and metabolic rate.
Blood group, sugar and genotype
Fasting glucose and your ABO and Rh blood group, together with a full haemoglobin genotype analysis. This includes your sickle cell and thalassaemia status and a breakdown of your haemoglobin types, which shows whether you carry any inherited haemoglobin variants.
Heart (cardiac markers)
Markers reflecting the condition of the heart muscle, including cardiac troponin, creatine kinase (CK and CK-MB), LDH, and HBDH.
Cholesterol (lipids)
A full breakdown of the fats in your blood, including total, HDL, and LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and the calculated cholesterol ratios.
Kidney function
Markers of how well your kidneys are filtering and clearing waste, including creatinine, urea, uric acid, and eGFR.
Liver function
A detailed assessment of liver health, including the liver enzymes, bilirubin, proteins, bile acids, and other markers of how well the liver is working.
Pancreas
Amylase and lipase, enzymes that reflect the health of the pancreas.
Electrolytes and minerals
Essential salts and minerals reflecting your fluid balance and many body processes, including sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, phosphorus, and bicarbonate.
Inflammation
CRP, a general marker that can indicate inflammation anywhere in the body.
Vitamins and iron (micro-elements)
Vitamin D and vitamin B12, both important for energy, nerves, and general health, along with ferritin, the best marker of your iron stores.
Thyroid hormones
TSH and free T3 to assess thyroid function, which affects energy, metabolism, and mood.
Tumour marker
A relevant tumour marker depending on sex, PSA for men (relating to the prostate) or CA 15-3 for women (relating to the breast). Please see the note below on how to interpret these.
Blood Count
A complete analysis of your red cells, white cells, and platelets, giving broad insight into anaemia, infection, immune health, and clotting.
Urine analysis
A wide-ranging urine test checking for signs relevant to kidney health, diabetes, infection, and more, including protein, glucose, blood, microalbumin, and the albumin-to-creatinine ratio.
An important note on tumour markers
The tumour marker included in this package (PSA or CA 15-3) is a screening indicator, not a diagnostic test for cancer. Levels can be raised by a number of common, non-cancerous conditions, and some cancers do not raise these markers at all. A normal result does not rule cancer out, and a raised result does not confirm it. Any raised or abnormal result should always be discussed with your GP, who can consider it alongside your symptoms and arrange any further assessment needed.
A note on your genotype result
The haemoglobin genotype analysis can identify sickle cell and thalassaemia traits and other inherited haemoglobin variants. If you are found to carry a trait, this does not mean you are unwell, but it can be important for family planning, since two carriers can have a child with a more serious condition. Any significant genotype finding is best discussed with your GP, and where relevant, genetic counselling can help explain what it means for you and your family.
Why it matters
Many health conditions develop quietly, with few or no symptoms in their early stages. By checking so many of the body's major systems at once and adding a full haemoglobin genotype analysis, this package gives you a complete picture of both your current health and your inherited blood makeup. Your results are best discussed with your GP, who can interpret them in the context of your symptoms and overall health.
