The Men's Essentials profile is a comprehensive blood test designed for men who want a clear, practical overview of their current health. It brings together key markers across blood, metabolic, liver, hormonal, inflammatory and cardiovascular health, making it ideal for an annual check-up, a baseline assessment, or investigating concerns such as fatigue, low energy, changes in libido, or general wellbeing. A simple blood sample is all that is required, and results are reviewed by our clinical team.

Blood health
- Full Blood Count (FBC): assesses red cells, white cells and platelets to screen for anaemia, infection, inflammation and clotting-related issues.

Metabolic health
- Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c): reflects average blood glucose over the previous two to three months, helping to identify prediabetes or diabetes.

Liver health
- Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and Aspartate aminotransferase (AST): enzymes that can indicate liver cell stress or damage.

Hormonal health
- Testosterone: the primary male sex hormone, important for energy, mood, muscle mass and libido.
- Sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG): a protein that binds testosterone and influences how much is biologically available.

Pancreatic and inflammatory health
- Amylase: an enzyme produced mainly by the pancreas and salivary glands, useful in assessing pancreatic function.
- High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP): a sensitive marker of low-grade inflammation, which can be linked to cardiovascular and metabolic risk.

Cardiovascular health
- Total cholesterol, Triglycerides, High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, Non-HDL cholesterol and Cholesterol Risk Factor: a full lipid profile that evaluates cholesterol balance and calculates your overall cardiovascular risk.

Prostate health
- PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen): a protein produced by the prostate, used to screen for prostate enlargement, inflammation or other prostate-related conditions.

Why it matters
Many of the most important health changes in men develop silently. This profile gives you and your doctor a broad, evidence-based picture of what is happening inside your body, so that potential issues can be identified early and managed proactively. Whether you are feeling well and want reassurance, or experiencing symptoms that need investigating, the Men's Essentials test provides the clarity you need to take control of your health.
